Her research interests include first/second language development, literacy instruction, culturally and linguistically diverse learners, and children’s literature of diverse cultures. She has published articles in professional journals, including The Reading Teacher, Research in the Teaching of English, Pennsylvania Reads, Reading Matrix, and Yuwen Jianshe, a Chinese journal on language, culture, and education.
