As an Accredited Music Therapist and a Registered Doctoral Psychologist, I am interested in the applied psychology of music, i.e., health, wellbeing and the music activities of everyday life (e.g., listening and singing). The following research questions drive my program of research: How does music enhance the actions of everyday life as negotiated across varied circumstances and populations; and secondly, how do spontaneous everyday uses of music extend understanding about coping? Qualitative research has provided the best means for realizing my research interests over the past decade, and I am particularly intrigued in using different kinds of texts and non-verbal media to convey understanding and disseminate knowledge
