Dave Edwards is passionate about preparing teaching assistants and paraprofessionals to be outstanding special education teachers of students with Emotional Behavior Disorders. He earned a M.A.T. in Special Education from National Louis University, a B.A. in Psychology and Music from Hamline University and is currently a Ph.D. student in Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Before working at the U, Dave worked as a cross-categorical special education teacher in Chicago Public Schools, a self-contained Autism teacher in Saint Paul Public Schools and as the Dean of Students and SPED administrator in a Minneapolis charter school. He is licensed in Illinois as an Learning Behavior Specialist and holds special education licenses in the areas of Developmental Disabilties, Learning Disabilities and Emotional Behavior Disorders in the state of Minnesota. Dave have been working for the last 2 years in the Nonconventional EBD licensure program.
