Lizbeth Stevens, professor, is a speech-language pathologist (SLP) holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), Michigan teaching certificate, and license to practice as an SLP in Michigan. She teaches neuroanatomy and courses primarily in the areas of child language disorders and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC). The graduate course on AAC, SPSI 622, includes a service learning component that supports services to individuals with complex communication needs in the larger community. Dr. Stevens has presented and published on service learning and AAC at the state, national, and international levels.
