Minda conducts mixed methods research and is interested in language and literacy ideologies of children, parents, and teachers. She also studies classroom discourse centered around literacy practices, the language and literacy acquisition of bilingual children, and literacy policy for multilingual students. Current research projects include a refinement of her “Teachers’ Language Ideologies” survey instrument, a Critical Discourse Analysis of discussions around literature in a 5th grade ESL social studies class, and a comparison of class discussions in the online vs. face to face environment.
