Dr. Howell’s research interests include preparing pre-service teacher candidates to teach in urban settings, investigating instructional technology as a tool for differentiation, and advancing social equity issues within school contexts. She annually presents her work at conferences and actively publishes in scholarly contexts. One of her most notable works, a co-edited book titled Yes We Can: Improving Urban Schools Through Innovative Educational Reform, challenges all educators to reach beyond barriers to ensure all students achieve academic success.
