Expertise: Dr. Giles scholarship and research interests include critical race theory, diversity issues in United States history, the African American experience, and the intersections of African American leadership and spirituality. His teaching interests include diversity issues across educational levels (K12-Graduate School), historical, cultural, and contextual competency for higher education/student affairs professionals and K-12 educational leaders, social foundations of education (history, culture, policy), and African American Studies.
