Expertise: My current research interests include exploring children’s thinking related to rational number, engineering education, and assignments that help improve pre-service teacher education. These projects include investigating how children learn about rational number concepts using the number line and other models, exploring how teachers can use engineering design ideas to incorporate STEM projects in their classrooms, and creating high quality assignments to further secondary preservice mathematics teachers’ ability to notice and utilize student thinking.
