Coordinator - Professional Education

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time


Under the direction of the Professional Education (P.E.) Director, organizes and coordinates professional and workforce development programs. Assists in the development and implementation of marketing and sales of programming based on community needs and program success data. Coordinates conferences and workshops and other programs, working with regional partners. Plans, organizes, and executes Professional Education and workforce courses and programs, classes, custom training, and associated activity, including vendors, facilities set-up, and coordinates program development and executive programming. Promotes and markets the visibility of the department in the community and within the institution. Seeks partnerships for program implementation and enhancement while building relationships with students and community partners.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelors degree in a directly related field of study or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of professional development, continuing education, certifications, and community education programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in marketing education programs.
  • Proficient in use of computers and computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Creative, problem solving, decision making and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Ability to foster professional and working relationships with students, teachers, community leaders, donors, and office support staff as well as group with competing interests.
  • Ability and experience in managing program budgets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, oral and written, with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public, instructors, and staff and to project a positive image for the University.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelors degree in Education, Administration, Business/Marketing, or a closely related field; OR an associates degree as described above and five years of experience related to the summary of duties; OR any combination of education and/or experience related to the summary of duties totaling seven years. Sales experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Occasional reaching, grasping and lifting (10 25 lbs.), frequent sitting, standing, walking, and talking. Some travel to different businesses and other UVU campuses. Evenings and Saturdays work as required.

Pay Range: $30,109 - $40,145
