Position description: The Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University is seeking a part-time Lecturer for Spring 2026 to teach CSHD 168. This course is designed to provide graduate students and upper-level undergraduate students with an introduction to the major biological, cognitive, and psychological changes during adolescence, the primary social contexts of this period, and current theoretical and empirical paradigms for understanding adolescent development. This class is scheduled to be taught in-person on Mondays from 1:30-4:00 pm.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications: Expertise in adolescent development. Doctorate and college-level teaching experience preferred.

The mission of the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development is to enhance the lives of children and families in diverse communities and contexts using collaborative, multidisciplinary approaches in ways that reflect the integration of research and practice - understood in the context of culture and community. The department has undergraduate and graduate programs in several areas of developmental science and applied human development. Our teaching also serves students in other Tufts departments and schools (e.g., Psychology, Computer Science, Community Health, Urban & Environmental Policy and Planning). The Department aims to prepare students to work with culturally diverse children and families in a variety of clinical, educational, research, and policy-oriented settings.
